Manx Christmas cards, watercolour by John Caley. Pack of 5 cards with white envelopes. Exclusive to Manx National Heritage.

The Grove House near Ramsey was developed in the mid 19th century by Duncan Gibb, a Liverpool shipping merchant, as a summer retreat for himself and his family.  It is a modest sized Victorian villa presenting a series of period rooms containing mostly original furnishings and fittings.  Its existence today is due to Duncan Gibb’s granddaughters’, the Misses Janet and Alice Gibb, desire that their lovingly preserved legacy be maintained as a period museum.

Manx born John Caley is a graphic designer and artist currently working for Manx National Heritage as their photographer.  He has taught Art, Graphic Design and Photography and exhibited in Sweden where he lived for many years before returning to the Island.

Christmas greeting inside card is “Nollick Ghennal erriu as Blein Feer Vie, A Happy Christmas on you and a Very Good Year”.
